We have great plans for the new school year!
Sharon Davies, Head Teacher of Ysgol Llandrillo-Yn-Rhos
It is hard to believe that another school year has drawn to a close. So many good memories and a time to reflect on all our pupils have achieved.
We have been proudly celebrating 20 years as an Eco school and our Green Rangers have made a huge contribution to school life. Year 5 teacher Mrs Harrop has been involved since the beginning and it was nice to recognise her dedication in a special service.
All that hard work played a major part in Ysgol Llandrillo Yn Rhos recently winning the Colwyn in Bloom Award for local primary schools.
And we have other achievements to celebrate. We recently passed the final stage of accreditation for the Healthy Schools Initiative. We have also won the Colwyn in Bloom painting competition thanks to the talent of our young artists and the efforts of Mrs Ferns.
This is also the time of year when we bid a fond farewell to our Year 6 pupils as they embark on the next exciting stage of their education.
It has been a pleasure watching you progress through the years and all the staff here at Ysgol Llandrillo Yn Rhos wish you the very best in your new schools. Make us and proud and help to inspire those who follow on behind you.
I would personally like to thank all our staff and parents for the hard work and many hours they devote to our children. Our school motto is 'Together Everyone Achieves More' and your commitment really makes a difference.
Next term, my deputy headteacher Mrs Highcock, will be leading the school for a few months as I have been asked to take the helm at Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn in Denbigh.
It is reassuring to leave the school in such a safe pair of hands.
There are already lots of plans in place for next year, including creating an area for pupils with additional learning needs and an outdoor learning classroom on the infants site. We also hope to create a Life Skills area on the junior site which should prove an exciting new venture.
We plan to update parents further on those plans in the new academic year.
All that remains is to wish everybody a safe and happy summer holiday and to look forward to welcoming the next generation of pupils to our school in September.
